Pretty impressing. A general purpose achitecture that can load OSM maps as well as several other, it has a mini map supports map markers (and you can "fly" similar to google-earth from one to another). License is LGPL. But there is not only light in this project: The linked source/binary (dated Feb 2007) has some small bugs e.g. in the minimap It requires two libraries: swingx and swingx-ws together about 1.8 MB The main problem is that I didn't find a release of both libraries that allows to use the map component other than the old linked one (with the bugs).
