Hi We've noticed some issues with Arabic text rendering in Mapnik.
http://westbank.maps.jsintl.org/?lat=31.70841&lon=35.20192&zoom=17&layers=B Street names in Arabic rendered along a path end up being drawn without ligatures, which to a native speakers looks like an A C R O N Y M. I'm not sure if mapnik on OSM.org is doing the same (can't find any streets as tortuously bendy as the ones in Bethlehem), or if there's a particular issue with the fonts on our server.
