It's unclear how big a deal translations are going to be in the medium term - the interface of openstreetmap.org has been pretty stable over the last few years and most translation work so far has been catching up with what we have already rather than aiming for a moving target. And anything other than "what's this in my language" *is* a topic for the dev list. If there's still lots of translation stuff needing discussed in a few months time, then maybe we would be better off with a separate list. But I'd say it's fine here for now.
