Most maps of small areas have a constant scale: eg: 100 pixels = 1 mile. Has anyone created maps w/ variable scales?
An example would be: 100 pixels = 1 mile at the edge of the map, but 100 pixels = 100 feet at the center of the map. This would be useful for "driving directions" type maps, where small streets close to the destination are more important than large streets far away from the destination -- We're just a Bunch Of Regular Guys, a collective group that's trying to understand and assimilate technology. We feel that resistance to new ideas and technology is unwise and ultimately futile. _______________________________________________ dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/dev
