Thank you - I will experiment with newer traces to see if I get the trace
ID.
I know what you mean about "MAPPING" traces.  this is why I think that only
major roads will work, as these are more likely to be real journeys.
Otherwise I may be looking for volunteers to share traces of their journies!

You need more meta data such as which vehicle the person was traveling for
this to be easy. Also many of the tracks that are available, will be biased
towards a mapping pattern, which is slower and more stop/start than normal a
to b journeys
Where users have set the recently added permission to make their track
identifiable, the track info will be included in the information returned by
the points API call.
