Hi In the next phase of Map Kibera, we're going to be focusing on collecting much more detailed information on particular themes ... health, education, water/sanitation, security. The map data in Kibera is *very* dense, and in order to make the process easier, am looking into at only editing one particular kind of thing at a time.
The process I'm doing now is * collect stats on tagging schemes [http://files.maps.jsintl.org/tags.html] * looking at a sector, and decide which tags to edit ... for example health, I choose amenity=hospital and amenity=pharmacy * download those via XAPI * load all the downloaded OSM files into JOSM, and merge layers * ok, that's what I want to edit! I'd like to investigate getting this end result in JOSM, without the manual steps below * Define the thematic layers in perferences (HEALTH is amenity=hospital, amenity=pharmacy, ROADS is highway=*, etc) * Add a panel which toggles visibility on each of those thematic layers. By default, there would be a layer for everything else not caught by the defined themes * ok, that's what I really want! Not being a JOSM plugin expert ... does anyone have ideas on how to implement? Interested in collaborating on a plugin? Thanks Mikel == Mikel Maron == +254(0)724899738 @mikel s:mikelmaron http://mapkibera.org/ http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Haiti
