This is exactly something like what I had in mind when I was thinking for routing algo( remember I wrote in my proposal - "node selection algo before path finding " ). I have to thank you for working so hard for the project. It seems like you are doing the all the hard work - spotting the API's, gathering info for algo's, motivating me and much more. I would like to assure you that the only thing currently in my mind is to prove my worth. I have been busy these past days due to my college exams. Now that the exams are over we have a Technical fest going in our University Campus this weekend named Cognitos . One of the online events based on debugging a Java code was organized today - smashdbug . Participants from all over India took part in it and I have great pleasure in informing you that I have the first prize. Meanwhile, I downloaded the pdf and the presentation for the Contraction Hierarchies algo, and I think the first phase of my project is a replica of the engine created by Dennis Luxen. Developing something redundant isn't good when its already open source. I would make use of it and the time which is saved will be used to better implement the group-connect feature with SMS enabled using GeoChat. @Nicolas >Dear Amit, > I think your idea is great. Definitely use of API is the way to go. With the Technical fest going on at my college , I am quite busy now but I will start my work as soon as possible. I'll update you regularly with all the details and the progress. Also I joined the group on yahoo.Hope to see you there and continue our work. Thanks a lot, Amit _______________________________________________ dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/dev
