Gotta agree about starting a new project. The only way I could see this type of growth happening is with lots of money, and even if that money could be obtained as an unrestricted donation it would still be seen as a takeover. $1000 here and there isn't going to cut it. Especially not when there's a chance that someone will put in all the effort but come in second place and get nothing.
