I made yet another suggestion here - http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/ThePromenader/diary/13610 . Thanks for any input.
Your suggestion does not suggest anything that has not already been written in http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/The_Future_of_Areas, which you mention.
Also, you continue to mix up data model, editing, and rendering. You describe the tedious process of creating a multipolygon today and conclude that a different data type would solve that, when indeed it is a question of editing software, not data type, what you have to do to create a polygon.
You explain "building=yes" as meaning "is it filled?", when in reality it is completely up to the renderer whether or not to fill an object that is tagged to be a building.
I don't usually comment on diary entries because people are free to write whatever comes to their mind without having the slightest clue or having done any background reading. However if you wish to make a meaningful contribution to the discussion about an area data type, which would be very welcome, I would suggest that you study the existing material before you add your ideas, and if you do, explain exactly in which way it differs from what has already been suggested.
