My memory was that I actually talked about the fact that we should try to get
Steve8 back up to speed. Obviously if he doesn't want to continue for whatever
reason then a new maintainer would be needed instead.

Well by team I mean whoever is currently responsible for the stylesheet
in that it should be up to the users of the repository to decide if they
want it converted.
Now as things stand that means [email protected] which is
basically Steve Chilton (Steve8) and Lennard vor den Dag (Ldp).
Now Steve is probably not going to be able to answer a question like
whether he wants to switch from svn to git as somebody will need to help
him sort out the necessary tools and workflow. I believe in the past
Lennard and Jon Burgess (who runs the tile server) have generally helped
with that.
