However, I can't see a connection to the issue https://github.com/openstreetmap/osm2pgsql/issues/67 which was mentioned earlier, except that both problems involve multipolygons. As far as I understand, issue #67 is about cases, where a relation is deleted, what also removes the outer polygons, even if they weren't deleted. But in this case, the relation was not deleted. So it seems to be a different issue. What version of osm2pgsql is running on the main osm.org-tileserver? Issue #67 was fixed over a year ago, so is it not yet incorporated in the osm2pgsql-version used for osm-carto? In the meantime I've reverted my changeset.
