There are lots of potential problems involved and the stack might be currently broken on your OS (at least this is what I experienced on OSX with homebrew, where python bindings (required for nik4) are available only for mapnik 2.2. but it doesn't compile)). if you're on windows you can use mapertive, on Ubuntu I guess mapnik will install easier, but with MapOSMatic (using a working deployment on someone else's system) you could have a print in a few minutes, or similar with the bigmap script (in screen resolution). http://openstreetmap.gryph.de/bigmap.html Cheers, Martin
