Package: openvswitch-controller Version: 1.4.2+git20120612-4 Severity: important User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts
Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package left unowned files on the system after purge, which is a violation of policy 6.8 (or 10.8): http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-maintainerscripts.html#s-removedetails Filing this as important as having a piuparts clean archive is a release goal since lenny. >From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): 1m19.5s ERROR: FAIL: Package purging left files on system: /etc/openvswitch-controller/ owned by: openvswitch-controller /etc/openvswitch-controller/cacert.pem -> /var/lib/openvswitch/pki/switchca/cacert.pem not owned /etc/openvswitch-controller/cert.pem not owned /etc/openvswitch-controller/privkey.pem not owned /etc/openvswitch-controller/req.pem not owned 1m19.5s INFO: Warning: Package purging left files on system: /var/log/openvswitch/ owned by: openvswitch-common These files seem to have been left by dependencies rather than by packages being explicitly tested. If openvswitch-controller places logfiles in /var/log/openvswitch and the postrm cleans them up during purge, the directory should be shipped by openvswitch-controller, too, to allow for proper cleanup by dpkg. cheers, Andreas
