That was my guess - I think that we will give it a go and see if
anything drops out.   My initial testing did exercise things quite a
bit so hopefully its all good anyway!

I doubt server users are going to rush to upgrade to the 3.8 kernel so
it should be a shallow adoption/testing curve.
