Thanks. Just to be sure, I've just re-tested these patches in a directory with an ordinary name and in one named ??ovs??. In the regular directory, all tests pass. In the one named ??ovs??, some tests are skipped but the rest pass. So I think this is effective. I'll push these to master and branch-1.9 soon.
