I have recently opened a PR #4481 [1] which enables tracking the metrics related to Kafka Client via Kamon integration (both producer and consumer parts). This would enable us to get better insights into the fetch rate and various other metric exposed by it [2]
This would be an optional feature and for now require configuration to be explicitly enabled So far Dominic and Cosmin provided some feedback.
