Yes. And decision having wider impact is getting communicated via the
'dev` mailing list with adequate time given to respond. Slack/Github
issues are at times used to quickly iterate but eventually message is
discussed on dev list as well

We now have a diverse set of people contributing to the project which
belong to different companies (or act individually). May be once we
document them [1] then we would have actual data point to refer to to
emphasize this aspect

Yes. Well I can vouch for myself at least :).

Yes for this as well. We have people who have been long time
contributors and have a good context on various design aspects.
However all changes are done via consensus and not seen any case where
any decision was forcefully taken
