As you may know, GitHub announced sponsorship integration recently and repos can provide a sponsorship button [1] to facilitate connecting contributors/maintainers with donors.
The ASF does not fund software development so it can remain stay independent. External initiatives are allowed if they clearly are external per https://community.apache.org/committers/funding-disclaimer.html I'm wondering if there have been any discussions about the GitHub announcements as it related to the ASF policy and whether we can/should include a button on our repos.
