All, We've made some important changes since 1.3 and at first I was thinking that we should hold off until we got the C++ writer from Alibaba committed. However, the people working on the Spark-ORC integration would really like ORC-174 to get released and making a release before the code refactoring is probably a good thing.
Let me get ORC-87 committed today and look at ORC-173 and ORC-156 and make a branch this afternoon. .. Owen
