Users will gain access to an upstream-supported Rust implementation. We anticipate that a community will develop around this project and contribute to its improvement. For the ORC community, adopting a Rust implementation could lead to more committers and even nominations for PMC members. This may also create opportunities to enhance the ORC specification itself. I personally believe this is a wonderful development.
