Jared> This weekend I successfully built Chandler CVS on Gentoo,
  Jared> using Gentoo's distribution gcc.

I spent additional hours hacking on the Gentoo build and developed two
"ebuilds", one for 0.5.02 and one for OSAF CVS. The GentooBuildNotes
page has been updated with these ebuilds and the "building by hand"
instructions from last weekend. (I believe the previous instructions
and advice are fully deprecated, so the page has been entirely
replaced).

If the ebuilds are used, all of chandler ends up in /usr/lib/chandler
(or /usr/lib/chandler-cvs) and a /usr/bin/chandler binary is created
which starts chandler itself. An "uninstall" removes all files, and
and reinstalling chandler-cvs updates the local CVS checkout (that is,
it doesn't repull everything).

The ebuilds aren't perfect; I've rejoined the gentoo-dev mailing list
and will see if I can get some advice for polishing over there.
