We are heading towards the May 30 milestone which will be 0.5.03. Most developers have detailed plans for 0.5.03 milestone but only the Apps team has detailed plans beyond that. The amount of time tentatively scheduled for each developer for 0.6 tasks varies wildly, from 1 month to 6 months.
- 0.6 high level goals clearly articulated and communicated.
- Recurrence work is turning out to be more of a central architecture issue having to do with the API for an Item -- Katie is tackling.
- Some product instability: crashes, Mac edit fields -- being addressed.
- Major new email functionality (May 6) will be demoed May 12.
- Major new sidebar functionality and look.
Design Team (http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Chandler/DesignGroup)
Progress: All the 0.6 specs exist at least in early draft format. All UI workflows for most specs are there although we still need developer input. Timezone work needs to be carefully scoped (spec barely started). 0.6 Virtuality (design of item collections, sidebar and sharing) confirmed. Work proceeding on sample data based on users and use cases. Contributions to D Conference presentation.
Plans: Lisa to work on Timezone spec, particularly non-requirements. Katie to work on recurrance "virtual events" issues -- decisions made there should cause a spec update. Continue work on sample data.
Personnel: Sheila is OOF Wed/Thurs this week (WAC update) and for following two weeks.
Applications (http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Chandler/ApplicationProject)
Progress: Defined bugzilla tracking plan and conventions (http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Chandler/BugzillaTracking). Worked on Demo D for Mitch to give. Did 0.6 high-level goals presentation. Checked in: calendar drawing bugs, detail view polish/fonts, calendar colorizing, new toolbar images, revised sidebar, text truncation with ellipses, gradients, sidebar buttons, bare-bones CPIA scripting.
Plans: Work on reducing amount of work where possible; in meantime continue working on current SWAG plan.
Personnel: Alec expected to be out for a month, any day now.
Services (http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Chandler/ServicesWorkingGroup)
Progress: BIG checkin of email functionality. Checkins with progress on Schema API, sharing synch and dialogs and support for mixins . Detailed plans now available from all developers.
Plans: Everybody drives towards 0.5.03 according to plan: Brian to schedule major code reviews of recent email work.
Developer Platform and Repository (http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Chandler/DeveloperPlatformProject)
Progress: Item Collection spec still in progress. Sample data being defined. Performance testing and profiling work ongoing. Checked in: work on views, sets, bug fixes, upgrade instructions.
Plans: Continue work on Item Collection spec and sample data and improving performance.
Server (Cosmo and Scooby)
Progress: Cosmo planning is now covered on the Wiki. Apache license chosen. Cosmo and Scooby explained to CSG members onsite (http://cvs.osafoundation.org/index.cgi/server/docs/arch/Cosmo_arch.ppt). Cosmo build work. Updated install notes and other docs.
Plans: Lisa to start working on Scooby mission statement and planning. Revise Web developer job description and solidify understanding of role. Release Cosmo 0.1.
QA
Personnel: Aparna is OOF this week.
Build (http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Chandler/BuildProject)
Progress: Finished wxPython upgrade, twisted upgrade and SWIG upgrade. Tiger build issues dealt with for now. Moved M2Crypto to external.
Plans: Upgrade wxWidgets, SWIG, wxPython, Python and Twisted imports to newer versions -- all targetted for 0.5.03 milestone. Initiate automated build/test of Cosmo server.
