Hi Donn, Hi John,
I just wanted to let you know, that for the
next EAP-build, the checkout problem should be fixed -- I could
reproduce the problem with EAP 5, but was able to to successfully
update "blocks" directory with current development version, where
JavaSVN's checkout has been totally reworked.
Best regards,
Marc Strapetz.

Marc,
Here's a simple test case the reproduces the problem for me on both Mac
and PC (XP home edition):
Using the svn repository at http://svn.osafoundation.org/chandler try
to CheckOut new projects under /trunk/chandler/samples/skeleton/ and
you should find that you can create projects fine for the data/
directory and the schema/ directory but not the blocks/ directory. The
blocks/ directory has a file in it named __init__.py which seems to
cause the trouble I'm seeing. However my coworker John is able to
access these files on his PC using XP pro, so there's still a mystery
about what's causing the failure.
Note that I was unable to use the http:// interface to our svn server
through SmartSVN for some reason. That may be another problem for you
to look into. You will be able to view that repository using your web
browser. I used svn+ssh access to the repository
svn+ssh://svn.osafoundation.org/svn/chandler instead of the above http
url. We have some documentation for this at:
http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Chandler/SubversionGuidelines
For the time being I am using a combination of the command line svn to
populate my project and your GUI to do diffs etc. I'm seeing other
minor problems using this hackery.... once we get project creation
straightened out we can move on to these more minor issues if you'd
like.

Hi Donn,
there has been reported a similar problem to the mailing list. Which
protocol do you use (svn+ssh) and on which platform does the checkout
fail?
Thanks in advance,
Marc Strapetz.

Subject: problem with SmartSVN checkout
When I try to do a checkout of one of my svn projects I'm getting an
error that says:"The project's root directory seems to be no valid
Subversion project. Do you want to continue?" The checkout has
apparently worked most of the way through, but then aborted due to some
kind of error, so the .svn information is not complete. However, I am
able to check out the directory from the command line svn, and also
some of the sibling projects that I have in my repository.
Any idea what could be going wrong?
