Thanks for your notes; they are helpful. I had asked Chris to use a python-based technology if at all possible, but they various pieces seemed unclear to a python newbie doing research. The other web development technology that IT has deployed recently is (python-based) Myghty (www.myghty.org), which feels very comfortable to me as an old HTML::Mason hack.
