Coming back to this thread, I wanted to summarize where I think we are at...

(1) We observed an example of "review after commit" -- John correctly backed out his changes based on feedback on the list. Bringing issues like this to the list is appropriate, it is the right place to surface conflicts and hash them out.

(2) The rough consensus is to not implement ViewableKind for 0.6, in part because its too late for new infrastructure and in part because we'd prefer to have the 0.6 "hello world" parcel align more closely with the other sample parcels.

(3) We learned more (as a group) about annotations and how to think about using them, and likely will come back to the discussion as we continue to refine cpia (and other apis) in 0.7.

(4) We observed two goals (possibly conflicting) for the "hello world" parcel that John is writing: a mechanism to help document cpia as a framework, and an 0.6 document to get a parcel developer started building flickr-like extensions to chandler. Philippe, John and a few others are working on the first goal as an ongoing project, and the second goal is essential to reaching our 0.6 objectives.

Philippe and John: if Bug 3229 is meant to satisfy the first goal, should we create a separate task (with a different owner) for our 0.6 objectives? Or will the tutorial that John is writing meet both goals?

Cheers,
Katie
