Also, it seems that the toolbar bug, which caused continuous redraws,
and was related to David's windows flicker solution, is back.

The calendar has started flickering like crazy, especially when
dragging or resizing. This is due to a wx bug that David S uncovered
earlier this week (one of the recent wx updates disabled his original
code which made the flicker stop..doh!) - anyway, he tells me has
reenabled his old stop-the-flicker code in our tree and that the fix
should be in soon (and that will also fix the transparent splash
screen issue, if anyone is also seeing that) - I'm assuming in the
next tarball.
