I prefer 1). One unique number everyone can see and share. Will
disambiguate bug reports.
Oh, there is also the question of do we want the version number to
contain an svn revision number or not. Opinions?
Should the version number contain a timestamp?
SVN number is better, more useful for devs. Besides, once you get the
SVN number, you can easily get the date, the inverse is not true. And
with time stamp, there's always this pesky "what if we have several
builds in a day?" issue...
