Okay.  I guess it's just good fortune Debian stable has the
right versions of everything.  I suppose that'll be a
problem later on though.

Out of curiosity, what went wrong with the later versions of
SWIG?

As near as I can tell the only bug listed here is that the
package Jeff Bowden built is not to Debian's standards.  So
the bug is to get the package cleaned up and ready for
Debian.  If that's right, no it's not a fix since I doubt
mine is to Debian's standards either.
