FYI, There has been cross compatibility tests run between parquet-mr and impala
to make sure they can read each-other's files.
You can find the file generation from parquet-mr and reading files that were
generated by impala here:
https://github.com/Parquet/parquet-compatibility
This repo has not been imported when we moved to apache.
It also does some backward compatibility checking (reading old files with the
new lib).
