Trunk is now 1.8.0-SNAPSHOT

Hi,

I cut the 1.7.0 release a few days ago and after passing the vote it will be 
released within a couple of hours.
I branched 1.7 and the trunk is now 1.8.0-SNAPSHOT. I also added the 1.8.0 
version to JIRA for any new issues.
