Hi,

for my master thesis I have to do different things with PDFs. PDFBox is a
great help there. During the last weeks I've made some smaller fixes and
developed a few new classes. Now I would like to contribute them to PDFBox.
Cool, every help is welcome!

What's the right way to do this?
The easiest way for us is to use JIRA [1]. Just create an issue for each bugfix or improvement and attach your changes as patch based on the current trunk in a diff format to it. A sample doc demonstrating the bug/fix would be fine. A unit test would be a plus.

As far as I can see from pom.xml PDFBox works with Java 1.5. Is this still a
requirement? Then I would need to do some changes to the new classes.
That's right. The current trunk depends on java5. We are thinking of moving to a newer java version when the next major release will be prepared. But we didn't decide that yet nor do we have any concrete plans about the next major version.

Regards
Dominic

Thanks in advance for your offer,
