Thanks for the hint - didn't try the rendering part. It seems that for merging
the issue comes from streams handling but I havn't had time to fully debug the
file. Takes more time than anticipated. I'm not sure if we shouldn't postpone
until 2.0 as parsing will be redone anyway.
