I don't want to discuss this, it's an ASF policy and not a PDFBox policy. I
suspect it's in the context of the risk that organisations are made responsible
for open source software. If I'd wanted to change this then I'd have to discuss
this for weeks and try to find people who agree with me, and wouldn't have time
for anything else. BTW you don't need any "permission" from me because I'm not
in any position to give or deny permission.
NeedAppearances is deprecated in PDF 2.0, ideally the PDF should have a correct
appearance. IMHO you don't need a snapshot, your client needs to make sure he
gets a proper PDF.
