Similar to PDFBOX-4435, the attached PDF prints with a blurry barcode.
The PDF is a 4x6 USPS shipping label that – when printed – must be scannable by
a barcode reader. If the barcode is blurry it makes it difficult to scan. The
printer is generally 203 DPI, so small artifacts that may go unnoticed on
standard printers can be much dire.
* Tests are performed on macOS 26.3 with Java 11 and Java 25. PDFBOX 2.x and
3.x.
* Issue was originally reported on a Zebra Label printer however the
"blurring" of the barcode is reproducible with a virtual PDF printer.
* Attempts to set rendering hints to nearest-neighbor don't seem to rememdy
this.
* To make sure this isn't a duplicate of PDFBOX-5971, I also tested the PDF
against this OpenJDK patch [https://bugs.openjdk.org/browse/JDK-8251928] to no
avail.
