Thanks for tearing things out.

1) These exceptions were removed from the trunk while your patch was waiting to 
be applied. Some of them were never thrown and others were replaced with 
IOException.

2) Good.

3) If you're still having problems you can attach the file to this issue and 
I'll take a look.
