Yes, this issue duplicates PDFBOX-2140 which is part of a wider issue 
PDFBOX-2149 related to systematic font encoding issues which we currently have. 
Let's keep this issue open and label it as an "improvement". I'm going to defer 
applying this patch until PDFBOX-2149 is ready to address the bigger picture.

P.S. Vincent, it looks like your text editor is stripping trailing whitespace 
from the end of lines (not a bad thing, per se), which is causing a lot of 
spurious changes in the .patch file.
