It started becoming "bad" with rev 1615722. With that rev, disabling the BBox
handling makes the rendering "good" again.
But it gets trickier: disabling the BBox handling in the current version
doesn't help.
However that doesn't automatically mean it is a bug. For example, there are
several files that render correctly if we switch off all clipping, but there
are much more files that no longer render properly.
