A shading with a specific name is easier to find when a person looks at his/her
own PDF with an editor or a debugger, and it would be needed if used several
times. The original example had both, so that a person could chose which is
best.
Besides that, I don't think it is helpful to delete something and after that to
insist on getting the reasoning why it was there in the first place.
