John Hewson edited comment on PDFBOX-2578 at 5/6/15 5:38 PM:
-------------------------------------------------------------
I've noticed some fonts where BaseFont and FontName are different. FontName
isn't supposed to be used, but sometimes it contains a good value, when
BaseFont contains a bad value. Might be worth investigating, see PDFBOX-2338,
p3, "Symbol,Italic".

> The file from PDFBOX-2573 has a font "Helvetica~1d3" which Adobe Reader
> recognises as a "base 14" Helvetica. We should implement a similarly
> forgiving font-matching mechanism for cases where there is no FontDescriptor.
