I'm ok with moving the debugger stuff to its own subpackage, but I didn't get
the point about the api. Nothing changes wrt api changes as long as that
separate jar is part of the pdfbox project. It would have the same version as
the remaining part of the project. Or do you want to create a separate project
with its own releases?
