I just made it match the size of the other fonts on my screen - though
monospaced fonts seem to run a bit small - the text size in your screen shot
looks perfect to me. Yes, it's arbitrary but it's intended to match. I notice
that you seem to have enabled large text on Windows, so you're really wanting a
larger than usual UI (ie.. your menu bar and title bar text is very large).
The grey text is a Windows issue, as I mentioned previously.
Note that the old hex editor was _unusable_ on OS X without font smoothing. It
was literally impossible to make out the characters.
Maybe we can set some different rendering hits for Windows to get the more
standard font smoothing, rather than the gray-looking smoothing.
