Maruan Sahyoun commented on PDFBOX-2849:
----------------------------------------
That's when there is no appearance at all i.e. we have to create it from
scratch. That's something we currently only support for variable text fields. I
wanted to start working on that after 2.0 is out (which will also help if there
are new fields generated using PDFBox in which case we currently also don't
generate an appearance).
