Re 2, the method mentioned works also in Linux/Unix. Only the directory would
be different. But I do understand what you mean, you don't have any fonts and
don't want to care about licenses. Sadly the software development world is full
of such problems.
Re 3, find a font that is free to copy, google has many:
https://www.google.com/get/noto/
Re 4, not everybody uses Adobe reader. Other readers (e.g. PDFBox) may not have
CJK fonts. And not embedding the used font means your PDFs won't be PDF/A
compliant (maybe you don't care about that, but your clients will ask for it).
Yes, please try your own class, for now. [~jahewson] is likely reading this or
will read it. Don't know about [~zuki_ebetsu] but just mentioning him like I
just did will ping him.
