Consider the following abstract form tree:
* Field F
** /FT /Tx
** /DA /Helv 9 Tf 0 g
** Kids
*** Annot Kid1
**** /DA /Helv 12 Tf 0 g
*** Annot Kid2
If you execute F.setValue("XY"), the default appearance font size of F is
applied on all Annotations effectively overriding the font size of Kid1, which
should be 12 after all.
The same happens when you execute a form.flatten(field[], true), because the
appearance characteristics are refreshed, but again only considering the
field's DA and not the annotations' DA font size.
