Tilman Hausherr commented on PDFBOX-3892:
-----------------------------------------
Oh, pruiority is "critical". We're all gonna quit our paid day jobs, use the
huge severance payment to buy the PDF 2.0 specification from ISO, quit our
families, and implement PDF 2.0 right away!!1!
Seriously, here's what will happen:
- some day the PDF 2.0 specification will be available for free
- some of us will look into it for features that might be implemented
- we may also receive 2.0 PDF files that fail on PDFBox because of a missing
feature and then maybe we'll implement these
At this time, we still haven't all PDF 1.* features. There are 248 open issues
including this one. PDFDebugger is missing many small features. Fonts with
complex scripts are not supported. JPEG2000/JPX has bugs. The parser isn't
on-demand (needed for people who insist on processing huge files with
-Xmx100m). Font hinting isn't supported (needed for incorrect chinese fonts).
Incremental saving works only in a weird way.
I'll close this issue because at most, it could be used as an umbrella issue,
but it would have maybe 50 child issues which is way too much. I'll rather
think about some good label for PDF 2.0 topics.
