Ough, it appears like these issues are indeed interconnected. The PDF that is
currently failing for us contains confidential customer content, I'll have to
find another example to share this. Perhaps it's also worth trying to rebase
our fork on PDF-Box 2.0.15 if you commited some fixes in that version.
