Tested with latest changes, everything works fine and the performance is
improved.
I still see it called a lot and it's still bad.
We could try to compute it once per font and cache the calculation in the font
object itself.
Or we could use a map and to store height for each font name.
I tried but some of the tests fail, so this is beyond skills at the moment :)
