I checked what Acrobat is doing with that field. When opening the docs there is
a status message "correcting form fields" and after that the {{gendate}} field
value is empty.
In addition the fields height is only 1pt where the font height is set to 10pt.
With/without the regular padding the text will not appear at all. Maybe we
shouldn't bother trying to display such text or stop processing when the text
is outside the visual bounds.
That doesn't mean the algorithm for doing the wrapping can't be enhanced.
