Ok, it's more tricky here. I tried it myself now and yes it got worse. So I
changed the file so that "Difference" turned into "Normal" and now the ordinary
rendering fails. That got me curious. This file does the barcode with vector
graphics (which is a good thing). However:

The color is white. So my guess is that it's the "Difference" blending that
makes it black.
I don't have a mac.
So the only solution for you would be to print as an image. -Or to change the
PDF itself so that it uses black color and no blending.-
