I suggest that, when some object is needed to the rendering (or any other 
processing like xmp or text extraction), and that object isn't found, instead 
of immediately throwing an exception, the document object should be passed to 
some registered Recovery Strategy implementation class.
So, for example, if the root is not found, the PDFParser would look for a 
registered root recovery registered implementation and ask it if it can 
recover/rebuild some util root information. The same with Font, Color Space, or 
any other kind of object.
